About Me

I became a doula to support women at every step of the incredibly special journey to becoming mothers. I will be there holding space for you by being physically, mentally, and emotionally present without judgment. I aim to support you as you focus on getting ready for birthing your baby, and as you navigate potentially difficult situations or emotions, by allowing you to be seen, heard, and understood during pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

I have three children of my own, and while my births were generally straightforward, each one came with its own set of unexpected surprises. With my first, I gave birth at 36 weeks, which brought its own worries as I waited in the hospital, unsure of when and if he was arriving. The labour itself was intense and stressful as I was so unsure about what my body was capable of. The weeks that followed were filled with both excitement and concern especially around breastfeeding. My second pregnancy had its own challenges when doctors were concerned I was carrying too small. This led to countless hospital visits and many unnecessary scans. In the end, she was born unexpectedly and quickly, delivered by my husband in our bathroom, as a healthy, strong, and thriving baby. By the time I was pregnant with my third, I thought I had it all figured out, but in hindsight, I realise how much I lacked the guidance, time, and wisdom that a Doula could have provided. I was so focused on getting through it all, but a Doula could have supported me through every step—offering reassurance, helping me prepare emotionally, providing comfort during labor, navigating family and helping me recover postnatally. Looking back, I now see how invaluable a Doula would have been, not just for me, but for my husband as well. The more I reflect on it, the more I understand the difference a Doula could have made in making my births calmer, more informed, and truly supported.
